All of us want to retire rich. However the sad reality is that, most people cannot do so and fall back on welfare. But these days, the idea for most of retiring rich is not so much in retiring when you are old and staying in luxury after that, but more in earning excess money today, to lead a comfortable life. So you will come across various websites that will want to show you ways how you can earn enough money today so that you can retire rich. Beware when you come across such websites. Let me tell you, most of these websites never deliver what they promise. These get rich quick schemes seldom work. There is hardly any alternative of hard work.

That is however half the story as indeed, there are a few websites that can actually show you genuine ways to earn in handsome amounts. The Internet has made this possible. And today's generation is lapping it up - leveraging every given opportunity to earn in tons so that they are able to retire young and retire rich. They work hard and work round the clock, knowing fully well that they will probably get burnt-out by the time they turn 45. So they have no option but to retire rich. But by that time they have earned enough so that they need not worry about the finances later on.

But does it mean that the earlier generations were badly off? Well, NO! It was just a different system that they followed. They had insurance with retirement benefits that promised enough money after a stipulated number of years. So if someone started to make the investments at a young age, then by retirement, he can get handsome returns. Most big companies also had 'employer matching fund' schemes that helped retirees.

So the earlier generations also had their own systems of retiring rich. But while today the principal has remained the same, the methods have changed to a great deal.
