Very many attractive options for seniors interested in retirement living have emerged in the last few years. Community living for seniors have emerged as a popular alternative. In the last couple of generations, kids have almost always moved out once they reach their late teens, and thus, parents are left alone. This situation is not always healthy as in many cases they do not have anyone to look after them in their old ages.

Retirement living communities is a way out of this. There are quite a few distinct advantages like security, continued access to health care, companionship, as well as access to community conveniences. The heart of the matter is accent on the individual, coupled with an accommodating environment, allowing the senior to continue to live a relatively good and comfortable life and opportunities to even pursue lifelong interests.

Thus many seniors have opted to stay in these retirement communities. And with the increase in their popularity, many such communities have also come up in large numbers. These communities are referred to as Continuing Care Retirement Community or CCRC.

To make matters better for a senior, the community enters into a CCRC contract with the individual where the person can be sure of the facilities and the privileges that he or she is entitled to.

But while entering into an agreement, the senior needs to find out if the CCRC is accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission or not. The Commission is the only accrediting body for CCRC.
