If you are planning to spend your retirement years in this city in the Nevada desert, you are not alone. Thousands across the United States are planning just like you to come to Las Vegas. Why? The answers are not difficult to find. Firstly, it is a great place to stay - fountains, gardens, wide roads, casinos, entertainment... the list could go on an on. But there is another compelling reason, and that is the cost factor. The fact is, the cost of living in Las Vegas is cheaper than what it is in many other cities in the US. There is no personal income tax and lower/moderate consumer costs. All this is making more of both elderly and young people decide to make this city their home.

And naturally with the huge number of people who want to move into this beautiful city, there has been a heavy demand of Las Vegas retirement homes over the last few years. Many such communities have also come up to serve the population. While some of them are general, there are those who are age restricted. That is, you can move into them only if you fall into a certain age bracket.

Here are a few Las Vegas retirement homes. They are of different types - while some of them are of star quality offering fabulous luxuries, there are also others which serve a more stricter budget.

Solera - This is an age restricted community. It contains a community recreation center, pool, spa, fitness center, computers, billiards, tennis, card rooms, crafts & more.

Sun City Aliante - It includes a 18 hole championship golf course, plus pool, fitness center, computer center, tennis, crafts and many other wonderful amenities.

The Promenade - This community falls more on budget class. The homes are single story with two car garages. Some homes are detached and some are attached, sharing a common wall or walls.

Terra Bella - This is a resort style up market community with the rooms having mountain view. Buildings are 3 storied with elevators to the second and third floors.
